My favorite thing about this wedding? The fact that this adorable couple walked down the aisle together. How sweet is that? Caroline & Oliver got married in the same location as the bride's grandparents, and the bride even wore her grandmother's dress making it all the more special. Thanks to KENZIE VICTORY for sharing this beautiful wedding with us.
HOW DID YOU MEET? We met at a house show! I was dancing with my friends and he was close by. I was trying to figure out how to talk to him and finally ended up asking if I had kicked any rocks in his shoes from my dancing. We exchanged names and then he excused himself to play with the next act. He rushed away and I was immediately in love because he was in a band.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL: It was in the spring and finally warm enough to do things outside. I suggested we go on a hike and we planned it for Saturday with his brother and his girlfriend. They of course bailed out last minute and we went alone. At the top, we found a secluded area and took out a picnic. After about two bites, he started saying the sweetest things and pulled out the most gorgeous wedding ring.
TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR WEDDING DRESS: A few years ago, I was visiting my grandparents and my grandma had her wedding dress out. I asked her if I could wear it when I got married because it was so stunning. When I got engaged, she sent it to me and an amazing seamstress helped fit it to me.
FAVORITE DETAIL OF THE DAY: As entertainment, we hired a poem portraitist and hand-drawn photo-booth artist. We loved the idea of giving our guests a personal memento of the day.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OUT TO A COUPLE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? Last minute we decided to get a videographer and I’m so happy we did! It’s so fun to be able to see how people reacted. The video shows so much of the wedding that pictures alone couldn’t truly capture. You’ll be thankful you did it later, because the whole day is such a blur.
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT? When Oliver and I were driving to the ring ceremony and reception, I heard a buzzing and realised that there was a hornet stuck in the tulle on my dress. We pulled over into a gas station on the busiest road and I had to dance around a bit to get it out. That was just the practice to our actual first dance, which was so lovely and probably my favourite part of the reception.
