I met Christopher a few years before he and Lindsie had even met, let alone got engaged. He was a cousin of a close friend and had an interest in photography. He knew I was a photographer so he asked me a few questions about shooting and gear. I'm so glad I made a good impression, because when it came time to hire a photographer, he told Lindsie about me. It is only a few weddings a year where the groom takes the lead on finding wedding vendors, and Christopher was one of them.
Christopher & Lindsie met in New York City and wed Salt Lake City with their ceremony taking place at the LDS Salt Lake Temple. We photographed their NYC engagements on the Upper west side, Washington Square Park, Central Park, and DUMBO. They knew since they were getting married in the mountains that they needed a part of their wedding to represent their time in New York City, especially since it is where they got engaged.
C & L's May wedding had the most beautiful weather. It was just a taste of Summer. Not too hot yet, and perfectly breezy. After a private ceremony, we took some beautiful portraits around the Salt Lake City Temple and then headed for the next best part of a wedding day, the reception. Lindsie put so much thought and time into planning her reception. They wanted to reflect the busy city of Manhattan in their wedding by having their wedding at a Publik Coffee House. They mixed the modern urban architecture of Publik with the chic, fresco feel of the lush florals, chivari chairs, and organic linens. Everything about the night was perfection. From the music being sung by Christopher's brother Patrick and special song performed by their combined musical families. And of course, no night is complete without a sparkler exit and the still bright blue summer sky.
